Who writes this, and how we know what we publish
Who is behind it
Alfredo Romero is the founder of EagleCallPro and the author of the research and guides published here. He is responsible for the methodology, the numbers and any errors in them. EagleCallPro operates under Nex AI Consulting LLC and serves restoration and home-service companies in the United States and Canada.
How the after-hours line test works
This is the one dataset the rest of the site rests on, so it is worth being precise about it.
We place a single outbound call to a restoration company's publicly listed main business number, outside business hours, in that company's own local timezone. The instant anything picks up, whether a person, a voicemail greeting or an auto-attendant, we end the call. No message is played, nothing is recorded, and we do not call the same company twice.
Each call is logged as exactly one of three outcomes:
- Answered, a live human picked up
- Voicemail, a machine or voicemail greeting answered
- Rang out, nothing picked up at all
Busy, failed and cancelled calls are recorded but excluded from the published rates. Counting them as failures would inflate our own headline number, which would make the study worthless.
What the numbers currently are
As of 4 September 2026, across 159 restoration companies: 73 reached a live human, 44 went to voicemail and 42 rang out with no voicemail at all. That is 54% that never put the caller through to a person.
Two things we want to be straight about. First, this is the restoration-only subset. We have run the same test on other home-service trades, and those results are reported separately rather than folded in to make the sample look larger. Second, 159 is a small sample. It is large enough to show that the problem is common and not large enough to pin the rate to the decimal, and we will not describe it as more than that.
The full method and results are in the after-hours line test. If you want to run it on your own line, the step-by-step method is published, or we will test your number for you tonight, free.
Where the other figures come from
Company counts, website-scan figures and state coverage come from our own database of restoration and home-service companies, built from public listings. Numbers that are not ours are attributed inline to the source that produced them, with a date. If a figure on this site has no source named and is not labelled as our own measurement, treat that as an error and tell us.
How to check us
Call 656-206-7608. That is our AI agent on a live line, not a recording and not a demo video. Interrupt it, talk over it, describe a flooded basement, try to break it. It is the fastest way to find out whether anything we claim about the product is true.
For anything about the research, write to hello@eaglecallpro.com. If you are citing the line test, the attribution is: EagleCallPro After-Hours Line Test, 2026 (https://eaglecallpro.com). We will share the underlying breakdown with journalists and researchers on request.
Corrections
On 6 October 2026 we corrected the headline figure on this site. It had been published as "201 restoration companies, 57%". Only 159 of those 201 companies were restoration; the rest were other home-service trades. The restoration-only figure is 54%. We also corrected the wording from "reached nobody" to "never reached a person", because a voicemail box is not nobody. Every page now draws these numbers from a single generated file so they cannot drift apart again.
